Two MLS men have been named to Honduras’ Olympic side, including young D.C. United striker Andy Najar.

It’s a massive opportunity for Najar, 19, who will be on the world’s stage in and around England.

Sporting Kansas City’s Roger Espinoza, 25, will be one of the team’s three over-aged players. Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa from the English Premier League is another.

Espinoza, one third or SKC’s well-oiled midfield triangle, was a member of the Honduran team that went to South Africa for World Cup 2010.

Najar, despite his age, already has 68 appearances for United; his first game at RFK came at age 17 back in 2010. He was the ninth youngest player to appear in an MLS match at the time.

Honduras faces Morocco, Spain and Japan during group stage of the 16-team men’s competition, which begins July 26 across England, Scotland and Wales. The schedule is here.
