Cristiano Ronaldo equaled Portuguese legend Luis Figo’s record of 127 national team appearances on Saturday, but CR7 marked the occasion with a missed penalty as Portugal settled for another disappointing draw, this time with bottom-of-Group F Austria, at EURO 2016.

After drawing Iceland, 1-1 in each side’s tournament opener, it was Ronaldo who launched a heated tirade after the game, calling out the European Championship debutants for their “small mentality” upon celebrating the result as if they’d been crowned champions of Europe on the night.
We’ll be anxiously awaiting Ronaldo’s post-game thoughts regarding his own mentality tonight, perhaps lamenting his own wastefulness — 10 shots, three on target, zero goals, and one penalty kick off the post.

Less than 10 minutes later, Ronaldo found the back of the net when he headed home from an in-swinging free kick, but was ruled to have been in an offside position when the ball was served up, which … yeah.

With the result, Portugal and Austria sit third and fourth in Group F, on two and one points respectively. Portugal will face Hungary in their group-stage finale (Wednesday, 12 p.m. ET), likely needing at least a point in order to advance as one of four third-place sides. Austria will Iceland at the same time, likely needing a victory to leapfrog into any one of first, second or third place.
