Even at the golden age of 36-years-old, Emile Heskey still thinks he can compete in the Premier League and has offered his services to former club Leicester City.

Heskey played his last competitive game for Australian side Newcastle Jets in April after spending two years at the club, scoring 10 goals in 42 matches. Before then, the 6'2" striker spent 18-years in the Football League and the Premier League playing with the Foxes as well as Liverpool, Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa before moving down under in 2012.

“It goes without saying, I’d love to come,” Heskey told BBC Radio Leicester when asked about returning to the King Power Stadium. “It is a great club that allowed me to get to the platform that I got to. I was an England international when I was with Leicester so that was a great achievement.”

Whether Nigel Pearson’s side would be willing to sign the former England international is unknown but the Foxes have endured a poor run of form in front of net lately, only scoring two goals in their last seven outings. From what Heskey says, he’s “fit enough” to return to the English top flight and would jump at the opportunity to move back to the UK.

Between 1994 and 2000, Heskey netted 46 goals in 196 matches for Leicester, who currently has an open spot on their 25-man Premier League roster.
