It would be strange to see the name “Beckham” on the back of an Arsenal jersey.

Now it looks like we will have to wait to see a Beckham as a Gunner as David’s eldest son Brooklyn is set to be released by the Arsenal academy at the end of the season.

The 15-year-old was hoping to receive a two-year scholarship at Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, but reports out of England say the club won’t retain the young Beckham after this season.

David Beckham’s two youngest sons, Romeo (12) and Cruz (10) are both still enrolled at the Hale End Academy.

Brooklyn had recently been called up to the Gunners U-18 side, a sign that many thought meant the young Becks was progressing up the ranks at Arsenal. However, it was then reported that most of the other youth players were at a tournament in Qatar, leaving Beckham as one of the few left back available for a call-up.

Still only 15, this will surely not be the last we hear of Brooklyn Beckham chasing every boy’s dream.
