Seven former Chivas USA players were selected in today’s MLS Dispersal Draft, with goalkeeper Dan Kennedy the top prize taken by FC Dallas.

The 32-year-old Kennedy has been the rock in an otherwise unstable Chivas side since 2008 when he was transferred stateside from Chilean club Municipal Iquique. Kennedy went on to make 139 MLS appearances over 7 years with Chivas, setting the record for all-time appearances for the club in June 2014. At Dallas, Kennedy will join a goalkeeping staff alongside Raul Fernandez and Chris Seitz.

After Dallas selected Kennedy, New York City Football Club used the second pick to take 20-year-old midfielder Matt Dunn then after Sporting KC passed, DC United snapped up first-year player Thomas McNamara. Montreal Impact then selected Donny Toia, Orlando City SC passed, the Colorado Rapids took Caleb Calvert and the San Jose Earthquakes selected Kristopher Tyrpak. Then after four teams passed Marco Delgado was the final player scooped up, taken by Toronto FC.

Players not selected but eligible will be available to be picked in December’s Re-Entry Draft while those ineligible will be placed into a separate waiver draft. New York City and Orlando City will then have ten picks each in next month’s MLS Expansion Draft, with Orlando picking first.
