One day after announcing a traveling squad without Javier Hernández, Manchester United took to its Twitter account to announce a change of heart. Though others who participated in the World Cup’s knockout stage are still set to miss the team’s U.S. tour, “Chicharito” is now scheduled to join up with his club teammates in Los Angeles ahead of their Wednesday friendly with the Galaxy.

The game is the first of a four-stop tour that will take the Red Devils from Los Angeles to Denver (to face AS Roma) and Landover, Md., (Inter Milan) before finishing in Ann Arbor, Mich., against Real Madrid.

Hernández, like fellow World Cup knockout stage participants Robin van Persie (Netherlands) and Marouane Fellaini (Belgium), had originally been left off Louis van Gaal’s 25-man team. Today, Manchester United changed course:

It’s great news for the throngs of Mexican national team fans in Southern California – fans who thought they were going to miss one of their few chances to see Chicharito play for his club. Whether he actually sees time against the Galaxy remains to be seen, but at least now, there’s hope.
