Burnley have signed Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad on a three-year deal.
The Premier League minnows, who are battling against relegation and are just three points from safety with 10 games to go, were able to sign Ulvestad outside the transfer window due to the Norwegian international being a free agent after leaving Aalesunds FK.

At 22, Ulvestad is believed to have a bright future in the game and turned down clubs in the Bundesliga to make the switch to England’s top-flight.
It is unclear whether or not Ulvestad will feature this season for the Clarets, but his addition will give Burnley’s boss Sean Dyche more options ahead of the run-in.
“Fredrik is someone who came into the club to spend some time with us earlier this year. We liked what we saw and he has gained some good experience playing in the league in Norway,” Dyche said. “It’s a new challenge for him now, not only on the pitch but off it too in terms of culture. He has gained a full international cap and is learning and gaining experience all the time. We will be looking for him to continue his development and improve further as a midfielder.”
A promising young midfielder in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, Ulvestad scored 14 times in 106 appearances for Aalesunds FK and with Burnley forced to play the same starting lineup time and time again in recent weeks but coming up short, some fresh talent at Turf Moor could be just what the doctor ordered.
Time will tell if the Norwegian youngster can cut it in the PL, but it’s good to see Burnley finding a way to bolster its squad between now and the end of the season as they have a real chance of Premier League survival. At the start of the season not many people would have predicted that with 10 games to go.
