With the legendary midfielder and club captain announcing he will leave Anfield to join LA at the end of the 2014-15 season, the next five months will see Gerrard embark on a lengthy farewell tour.
Despite his appreciation for everything Gerrard has achieved at Liverpool during his 17-year career with the club, Rodgers does not want his impending departure to become a distraction for other players as they aim to mount a top four challenge.
