Borussia Dortmund fans pay tribute to Jurgen Klopp with massive tifo

Klopp

Jurgen Klopp will manage his final match in charge of Borussia Dortmund today before departing the club for a new challenge, and fans have expressed their gratitude for his time at Westfalenstadion.

In the season’s final day, Dortmund hosted Werder Bremen with the home side looking to move as high as 6th in the table, a very respectable finish after what was a disastrous first half of the campaign.

Last month, Klopp decided to step down after the year’s end due to the step back, and fans have shown their gratitude for his wildly successful time in charge. In his seven years at the helm of Dortmund, the club won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal, two DFL-Supercups, and made the Champions League final in 2013. Most importantly, Klopp was a model professional and showed the utmost respect for his beloved club, even down to the very end as he has refused to speak with any other team about a future managerial job before the end of the season out of respect to Dortmund.

It’s truly the end of an era at Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel is the man to follow Klopp, and not only does he have plenty of work to do moving the club back into a top European place, but he also has massive shoes to fill.

To help make Klopp’s final home game a success, Dortmund defeated Werder Bremen 3-2 to qualify for a place in the Europa League next season, a stunningly successful result given how disastrous the season began. To cap things off, Klopp enjoyed himself at the final whistle.
