Two second-half goals in five minutes from Heung-Min Son have earned Bayer Leverkusen a 2-1 road win over Zenit St. Petersburg as another round of UEFA Champions League group play kicked off in Russia on Tuesday.
The win guarantees Bayer no worse than third place in Group C and puts them a point away from guaranteed participation in the knockout rounds.

Bayer joins Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich as the only teams to clinch third place or better spots in group play, with the latter two only having played three games at posting time. A fourth German club, Schalke, is second to Chelsea in Group G.
As an added bonus, here’s Son’s first goal. ‘Twas a beautiful curler from Son, 22, who’s been capped 32 times by South Korea.
Dang, Son.
