Mesut Ozil believes Mesut Ozil will be crowned the best player on the planet.
The 26-year-old attacker has yet to flourish for Arsenal since his $62 million move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, with plenty of critics pointing to his sluggish work ethic as a contributing factor to his less than impressive displays for the Gunners.

However, the German playmaker says he will join the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by becoming the World Player of the Year in the future.
Speaking to Sport Bild while on international duty with Germany, Ozil accepted criticism from the likes of Paul Scholes and shrugged it off, talked about why he is referred to as the “German-Turk” in his homeland and had the following to say about his goals in the short and long-term.
Ozil has played just 14 times for Arsenal in the Premier League this season due to injury but in recent weeks the German international has been in good form. Over the past 18 months since arriving in England he has shown glimpses of the superstar talent we saw at Real.
With just four goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this campaign, Ozil has at least created plenty of chances as the Gunners close in on second-place in the PL after five-straight wins. His return to fitness has certainly boosted their attacking output.
Yes, he has the talent to challenge for the Ballon d’Or, but his temperament and levels of consistency are his biggest obstacles to overcome if he’s ever going to be mentioned in the same breathe as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Players have to set high targets and be confident but Ozil planning to win the Ballon d’Or seems a little off the mark for a man who has failed to impress the vast majority of fans for both Arsenal and Germany over the last year.
