Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou struck a defiant but also dispirited tone after his side was beaten 6-3 by Liverpool on Sunday.
And, of course, he was asked whether he’d rather lose a game like that or win a less exciting game, as Postecoglou has been a full-blooded attacking football enthusiast regardless of the danger provided by an opponent.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t like losing, any way you lose. I said during the week we want to be an attacking team, an aggressive team but you want to win.”

When asked what he learned, he wasn’t sure. He just knows that Spurs are missing a host of influential players and Liverpool are deeper than the North Londoners.
“Not a great deal,” Postecoglou said on the USA Network after the game. “They are a good side. Not a lot of teams score three against them. Overall they are in a great moment, flying and really settled. Just look at the players they are bringing on to finish off a game of football and we aren’t at that levell yet.”
So how does he fix it, and should he be choosing a Plan B?
“I don’t know how to answer that question,” he said. “I don’t know about Plan Bs or Plan Cs.”
