Andy Rose skips Seattle for return to England with Coventry City

Australian midfielder Andy Rose is leaving Major League Soccer for a job with Coventry City in England’s third tier.

Rose, 25, spent his youth career at Bristol City before spending 2008-2011 at UCLA, a college stint that made him the sixth overall pick of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft (Real Salt Lake).

After a trade to the Sounders, Rose made 107 appearances with 10 goals and 7 assists in parts of four seasons in Seattle.

Rose joins notable names Joe Cole, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Adam Armstrong in the West Midlands. The League One side in in fourth place, five points behind leaders Burton Albion and two back of automatic promotion.

The departure is another hit to Seattle’s depth after the club traded Lamar Neagle earlier this offseason.
