Browns placed DL Shelby Harris on injured reserve, ending his season.
Harris signed a one-year contract extension with the Browns this offseason after a productive 2023 campaign in which he totaled 28 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 17 games. Harris totaled 37 tackles and another 1.5 sacks in the 14 games he appeared in this season, but an elbow injury will sideline him for the final two weeks of the 2024 campaign. Still under contract through next season, Harris, 33, can be let go this offseason but does carry a $2.224 million dead cap hit.
  • CLE Defensive Lineman #93
Browns signed DT Shelby Harris, formerly of the Seahawks, to a contract.
Harris visited with the Browns in late July and is now set to join the team. The veteran DT spent last season with the Seahawks, starting 15 games while totaling 44 tackles, five TFLs, and two sacks. The soon-to-be 32-year-old has started every game he’s appeared in since 2019 and brings plenty of experience to a Browns defense that hopes to improve on last year’s eighth-worst run-stopping unit.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports the Browns are working out free agent DE Shelby Harris.
Harris is just days removed from a visit with the Broncos and is now taking his free-agent tour to Cleveland. A nine-year NFL vet, Harris was dealt to Seattle last offseason and went on to start 15 games for the Seahawks. He totaled 44 tackles, five TFLs, and two sacks and should be a welcomed addition to whichever defensive line he ends up on.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #93
Broncos hosted free agent DE Shelby Harris for a workout.
Harris was sent to Seattle as a part of the infamous Russell Wilson trade. He started in all 15 games he was active for, tallying two sacks and five TFLs in the process. Harris was released by Seattle after the season. He would only return to the Broncos as a depth option, though his familiarity with the organization makes a signing seem likely.
  • CLE Defensive Tackle #93
    Seahawks released DE Shelby Harris.
Harris was part of the trade that sent Russell Wilson to Denver. In his lone season in Seattle, Harris appeared in 15 games, all of which were starts. He notched two sacks and five TFLs. Even at 31 years old, Harris is still a strong run-stuffer and should be able to find a new home in free agency.

  • Guard #69
The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar believes Seahawks OG Gabe Jackson and DT Shelby Harris could be cap casualties this offseason.
As Dugar points out in his article, the Seahawks are already in pretty good shape as far as cap space is concerned, but it could always be better. Jackson and Harris are set to earn $11.2 million and $12.2 million next season but could be cut for a savings of $15.4 million. Jackson dealt with a knee issue last season that limited him to 61.6 percent of the team’s offensive snaps, while Harris, who will be 32 at the start of next season, started 15 games but managed just two sacks. As the team draws closer to a new deal for Geno Smith, it’s possible both Jackson and Harris could be on the outs as the team looks to free up cap space for younger talent.

  • CLE Defensive Tackle #93
Seahawks DE Shelby Harris (questionable, knee) will play in Saturday’s Wild Card game vs the 49ers.
The eight-year veteran will be active for his first career playoff game. Harris played 55% of defensive snaps for Seattle during the regular season, posting 44 tackles, two sacks, and five TFLs in 15 games.

  • CLE Defensive Tackle #93
Seahawks restructured DT Shelby Harris’ contract, clearing $3.3 million in cap space.
Harris was part of the trade compensation for Rusell Wilson, in the Seahawks’ deal with the Broncos. He is signed through the 2023 season, his age-32 campaign. He should be a key part of the Seahawks’ defensive line rotation this season.

  • PIT Quarterback #3
Broncos acquired Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick from Seattle in exchange for QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, DT Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick.
Denver was always the most likely destination for any blockbuster trade involving a quarterback. They had the cap space and draft capital necessary to acquire an established veteran, plus a win-now roster to motivate them to act. After a rocky year in Seattle that was plagued by a finger injury and rumors of a trade, Wilson finally got his wish. Even with Fant passing him on the way to Seattle, he joins a roster loaded with pass-catching talent. Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy will serve as stand-ins for D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett while Tim Patrick gives him a solid upgrade at WR3. Away from the clutches of Pete Carroll’s run-first offense, Wilson’s fantasy outlook is soaring along with the rest of his new pass-catchers.

  • CLE Defensive Tackle #93
Seahawks acquired DT Shelby Harris, TE Noah Fant, QB Drew Lock, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick from the Broncos in exchange for QB Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick.
Harris will be entering his age-31 season and has two years left on a three-year deal he inked last offseason. He matched his career-high with six sacks last season and has 21.5 of them since joining the Broncos in 2017 as an underrated interior lineman. Harris should be a big part of the Seahawks’ rotation up front under new DC Clint Hurtt.
