Free agent OG Senio Kelemete is trying out with the Saints.
Kelemete played four seasons as a reserve guard with New Orleans from 2014-2017, started for a year in Houston in 2018, and has been mostly a reserve since. He did start a few games for the Chargers last season. New Orleans doesn’t have much in the way of established depth behind Andrus Peat, Erik McCoy, and Cesar Ruiz, so it makes sense to see if Kelemete has anything left at 32.

  • SEA Running Back #31
    49ers released RB Wayne Gallman.
Raheem Mostert, Trey Sermon, and Elijah Mitchell are San Francisco’s top-three running backs, at least until Jeff Wilson returns. The 49ers also waived/released DL Alex Barrett, WR River Cracraft, DL Darrion Daniels, OL Alfredo Gutierrez, LB Justin Hilliard, FB Josh Hokit, OL Corbin Kaufusi, S Jared Mayden, OL Colton McKivitz, CB Alexander Myres, OL Dakoda Shepley, LB Elijah Sullivan, WR Nsimba Webster, WR Travis Benjamin, OL Jake Brendel, S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, CB Dontae Johnson, OL Senio Kelemete, TE Jordan Matthews, TE MyCole Pruitt, QB Nate Sudfeld, and DL Eddie Yarbrough.

  • FA Guard #68
49ers signed G Senio Kelemete, formerly of the Texans.
Kelemete appeared in 14 games with five starts for Houston in 2020. He’s regarded as a versatile lineman who has played guard and tackle. The Niners are scrambling to build offensive line depth after losing OT Justin Skule to an ACL injury. The 49ers will be Kelemete’s fourth team since entering the NFL in 2012 with the Cardinals.

  • FA Guard #68
    Texans released OG Senio Kelemete.
The move creates $1.725 million in cap space. The 31-year-old spent the past three seasons in Houston, making five 2020 starts for the Texans’ typically-battered line. Never a true difference maker, Kelemete is mostly a liability at this stage of his career, but his experience will surely earn him calls on the open market.

  • FA Guard #68
Texans signed G Senio Kelemete to a one-year contract extension.
The deal will take him through 2021 with Houston. Kelemete started the team’s regular season opener at left guard last year but quickly landed on injured reserve the following week. He’ll compete for a starting role, but will likely land as the Texans’ top reserve and swing tackle in-season.

  • FA Guard #68
Texans declared QB Alex McGough, RB Taiwan Jones, G Senio Kelemete, T Seantrel Henderson, TE Logan Paulsen, TE Jerell Adams and DE Carlos Watkins inactive for Week 3 against the Chargers.
The Texans won’t have all of their pieces on the offensive line, but the good news is LT Laremy Tunsil (ankle) is good to go.
  • FA Guard #68
Texans declared OG Senio Kelemete, QB Alex McGough, RB Taiwan Jones, G/C Greg Mancz, TE Logan Paulsen, TE Jerell Adams, and DE Carlos Watkins inactive Week 2 against the Jaguars.
Rookie LG Tytus Howard is back in the lineup for his NFL debut after missing Week 1. That sends Kelemete, who started, to the inactive list.
  • FA Guard #68
Cardinals selected Washington T/G Senio Kelemete with the No. 151 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
A 41-game starter in Steve Sarkisian’s pro-style offense, Kelemete protected the blind side as both a junior (for Jake Locker) and senior (for Keith Price). Kelemete goes 6-foot-4, 307 and has mediocre arm length (33 1/2"), so he’s likely ticketed for the interior of Arizona’s offensive line.
  • FA Guard #68
The Cardinals will use fifth-round pick Senio Kelemete at guard.
Kelemete was Washington’s starting right guard as a sophomore in 2009 before kicking to Jake Locker’s blind side in 2010 and spending his last two years at left tackle. The Cards are set at left guard with Daryn Colledge, and Adam Snyder is the new right guard. Kelemete is ticketed for backup duties as a rookie.
  • CLE Quarterback #3
Cardinals signed sixth-round QB Ryan Lindley, sixth-round S Justin Bethel, and fifth-round OG Senio Kelemete to four-year contracts.
Strong-armed but riddled with mechanical issues, Lindley was a chic post-draft media pick to see action as a rookie. It’s now clear that the Cardinals view him as a long-term project. Converting to safety from cornerback, Bethel projects as a core special teamer. Kelemete will play a backup guard role if he makes the roster as a rookie.
