Raiders placed DE Arden Key on injured reserve with a broken foot.
It’s a mere formality as Key had already been ruled out for the year following surgery earlier this week. The 2018 third-rounder contributed four tackles along with two sacks over 179 defensive snaps this season. The Raiders promoted LB Quentin Poling from their practice squad in the corresponding roster move.
  • FA Linebacker #96
    Bucs signed OLB Sam Acho.
Acho played for coach Bruce Arians in Arizona. He will provide depth on defense while spending time on special teams.
  • FA Linebacker #96
    Bills signed OLB Sam Acho.
Acho is taking the place of OG Vlad Ducasse, who the Bills released Sunday morning. The 2011 fourth-rounder spent the bulk of 2018 on injured reserve, missing the Bears’ final 12 games (13 if you include their first-round playoff loss to Philadelphia) with a torn pectoral. He’ll serve as veteran depth in Buffalo.
  • FA Linebacker #96
    Bears released OLB Sam Acho.
The move saves Chicago $2.125 million against the cap. Acho was limited to just four games last season because of a torn pectoral, but he should be near full health by this point. He should quickly latch on somewhere as defensive depth and an asset on special teams.
  • FA Linebacker #96
Bears placed OLB Sam Acho on injured reserve with a torn pectoral, ending his season.
A 12-game starter last season, Acho had been on the field for just 27 snaps so far in 2018. Now 29, Acho is signed through 2019.
  • FA Defensive Back #22
Eagles declared CB Asante Samuel, DE Brandon Graham, LB Greg Lloyd, OT Winston Justice, DT Trevor Laws, DL Cedric Thornton, and C Julian Vandervelde inactive for Week 16 at Dallas.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will start opposite Nnamdi Asomugha with Joselio Hanson as the nickelback.
  • FA Linebacker #96
Cardinals fourth-round rookie OLB Sam Acho recorded two sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in Week 12 against the Rams.
His transition from college defensive end is going swimmingly, with five sacks in five starts since taking over for a washed-up Joey Porter. Acho’s surprisingly quick development bodes well for a Cardinals defense desperately in need of a young pass rusher. He should be a fixture for 2012.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #54
O’Brien Schofield is penciled in as the starter opposite ROLB Sam Acho.
The Cardinals are intrigued by new addition Quentin Groves and are expected to move ILB Stewart Bradley outside in some packages, but Schofield is the new starter after tallying five sacks and six QB pressures in a situational role in 2011. Last year’s starter, Clark Haggans, could still be re-signed as a backup.
  • FA Linebacker #96
Cardinals placed OLB Sam Acho on injured reserve with a broken fibula/ankle, ending his season.
Acho suffered the injury in Arizona’s Week 3 loss to Detroit. Since an impressive rookie season (seven sacks, four forced fumbles) in 2011, Acho has seemingly flatlined as a player, and was only playing about 50 percent of the snaps in new DC Todd Bowles’ defense. He’s signed cheaply through 2014, but the Cards need to find a more explosive edge presence in the offseason.
  • FA Linebacker #96
    Bears re-signed OLB Sam Acho.
Acho appeared in all 16 games (six starts) for Chicago last season. He graded as one of the worst linebackers in the league despite playing 500 snaps. 29-year-old Acho will return as depth on the outside.
