Ronnie Dawson has signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Dawson will take his talents overseas, reportedly earning $85,000 for the rest of the year, after playing 64 games this season for the Lexington Counter Clocks of the independent Atlantic League. The 28-year-old outfielder, who was a second-round pick back in 2016, sipped a couple cups of coffee in the majors for the Astros and Reds over the last few years, getting into four contests in the majors since 2021.
  • INT Left Fielder #82

Dawson was up as a COVID-19 replacement player for literally 24 hours. The 26-year-old outfielder made it into one contest with the Reds earlier this season.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Reds recalled OF Ronnie Dawson from Triple-A Louisville.
Dawson was hitless in three plate appearances during a brief stint with the Reds earlier this month. He could get a little playing time with the Reds dealing with multiple injuries.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Reds optioned OF Ronnie Dawson to Triple-A Louisville.
With Tyler Naquin returning from the COVID-19 injured list on Friday, Dawson was no longer needed as a bench option. He’ll continue to hone his skills at Triple-A until he’s called upon again.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Reds recalled OF Ronnie Dawson from Triple-A Louisville.
Dawson, 26, was hitting .283/.377/.435 with three homers, 12 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 25 games at Triple-A Louisville. He’ll add extra depth to the Reds outfield with Nick Senzel and Tyler Naquin unexpectedly landing on the COVID-19 IL on Wednesday.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Reds selected OF Ronnie Dawson from the Astros in the MiLB Rule 5 Draft.
Dawson was a second-round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft out of The Ohio State University and just made his debut at baseball’s highest level this past season as Houston was working through a COVID-19 outbreak. The 26-year-old holds a career .246/.340/.404 batting line in the minors.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Astros optioned OF Ronnie Dawson to their alternate training site.
Dawson was a fill-in player for Houston as the club worked through a COVID-19 scare. The 25-year-old outfielder ultimately went 1-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored in his short stay.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Astros purchased the contract of OF Ronnie Dawson from the team’s alternate training site.
Dawson will join a short-handed Astros roster following the news that several players such as Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, and Alex Bregman would be heading to the injured list for undisclosed reasons.

  • INT Left Fielder #82
Astros OF prospect Ronnie Dawson went 2-for-3 with a pair of homers on Wednesday for Double-A Corpus Christi.
Dawson, 23, now has five homers over his first 18 games of the year. A second-round pick out of Ohio State, the left-handed hitting outfielder is slugging .493 to begin the campaign, but he’s struck out 26 times and is hitting just .233 in that time frame. He has drawn seven walks, however, and he’s shown his above-average speed with three steals. Dawson offers plenty of volatility because of his swing-and-miss, but the power and speed would make him a very interesting fantasy prospect if he can keep the strikeouts to a dull roar. At the very least, he’s a prospect to keep an eye on in deeper dynasty leagues. There could be something here.
