Perry II

Perry (6'2/300) opted to enter the transfer portal earlier this week after the MEAC postponed its fall sports schedule. The redshirt senior logged 14.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks in 2019 and adds yet another transfer get to Illinois. The Illini really began to dig in hard with the transfer market last offseason and subsequently made their first bowl under HC Lovie Smith during the fall. Right back to the well this offseason, with a whopping 10 players (at least) transferring to Smith’s squad thus far. Smith was looking like he would be out of a job just two years ago. He has done remarkable work in stabilizing this ship.

The standout redshirt senior logged 14.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks last season. He would make for a strong depth-chart addition to any Power Five program. While Perry would face a real step up in competition with a move into the FBS, he actually has an established pedigree to his name, something which many, many, many transfer-portal entrants simply don’t possess.
