The deal comes after Rogers worked out for Miami last week. With Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson both opted out, Rogers adds depth with a chance for a top-three role. Rogers fractured his kneecap in December but was healthy enough to pass a physical. He’ll compete with Jakeem Grant, Ricardo Louis, and Isaiah Ford for slot snaps in training camp.

Miami cut Louis in July but Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson have opted out of the season since his departure. Louis signed with the Dolphins in 2018 but missed both of his two seasons with the team due to injuries. Jakeem Grant’s experience in Miami makes him the best option to be the third receiver. Louis will contend with the likes of Isaiah Ford and Mack Hollins to start the year as Miami’s fourth option.

Training camp cuts are beginning to storm in with roster sizes set for 80 players this year. Louis missed all of 2019 with a knee injury and is unlikely to make a 53-man roster. The same can be said for Rudock.

Louis was an exclusive rights free agent. He missed all of 2019 with a knee issue after he was sidelined by a neck ailment in 2018. The ex-Brown turns 26 in March. Even in Miami, the ex-fourth rounder is probably a long shot to crack the 53-man roster.

Cleveland also signed fellow fourth-rounder Seth Devalve on Wednesday, leaving a trio of third-rounders and one fourth-rounder unsigned for the Browns.

A Miami native, Louis also hopes to link up with Andre Johnson and Antonio Brown over the six-week break. Louis played just 316 snaps as a rookie and was phased out of the offense almost completely once Corey Coleman was back healthy, but he hopes to win a top-three job at camp this year. Beat writers have mentioned Louis several times as someone who looks a lot better in Year 2.
