    Vikings released DT Remi Ayodele.
The move doesn’t clear any cap space, but does take the Vikings off the hook for Ayodele’s $2.2 million base salary. Ayodele struggled mightily in Minnesota’s scheme last season, failing to attract double teams on the nose and generating no pass rush. His possible involvement in the Saints’ bounty scandal didn’t help Ayodele’s chances of keeping a roster spot, either.

Saints agreed to terms with DT Remi Ayodele, formerly of the Vikings.
The 29-year-old Ayodele was the Saints’ starting nose tackle in 2009 and 2010 before washing out as a free agent bust in Minnesota last season. He could be a big contributor right away on running downs in New Orleans. Ayodele knows the system, plays a need position, and is coming nice and cheap.

The Vikings’ signing of DTs Fred Evans and Letroy Guion could lead to the release of Remi Ayodele.
Guion’s signing clouded Ayodele’s future while Evans’ re-signing may have sealed it. Ayodele was a bust during his first year in Minnesota last season, proving highly ordinary as a run stuffer.

The Vikings plan to play recently re-signed DL Letroy Guion at nose tackle.
Still just 24, Guion was used mostly as a three-technique tackle in 2011. He appeared in all 16 games, but made just three starts. He graded out positively against the run by Pro Football Focus, however, and thinks he’ll fare better at nose tackle. “I can see the ball better. Read the offensive line better,” Guion said. The news could spell the end of Remi Ayodele’s time in Minnesota.

Vikings DT Remi Ayodele was demoted out of the starting lineup Monday.
Ayodele had started eight games this season, but had just three tackles during that span. On Monday, rookie Christian Ballard got the nod. Ayodele signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Vikings back in July.

    Saints released DT Remi Ayodele.
Ayodele has started 42 games for the Saints and Vikings over the last three seasons. But at age 29 he no longer generates a push up front. He was also linked to the bounty scandal. The Saints also waived TE Jake Byrne, WR Marques Clark, WR Kevin Hardy, WR Derek Moye, OL Hutch Eckerson, OL Paul Fenaroli, OL Brian Folkerts, DE Donavan Robinson, DT Swanson Miller, LB Aaron Tevis, CB Kamaal McIlwain, CB Cord Parks and S Johnny Thomas.

Team sources tell the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the Cowboys are looking to deal for a backup nose tackle and a nickel back.
Remi Ayodele is currently the No. 2 nose behind Jason Ferguson. Dallas may not be happy with aging nickel man Aaron Glenn, whose camp has been lackluster. The paper speculates that backup ILB Kevin Burnett could be bait.
