G/C Reggie Wells practiced Monday for the first time since November.
Wells missed most of last season with a broken ankle. He’ll be limited until training camp but lined up as the first-team left guard at practice.
  • FA Guard #74
Reggie Wells has been moved from left guard to right tackle.
Rookie Deuce Lutui appears likely to replace Wells at left guard, but the newly acquired Chris Liwienski could also step into the vacancy. If you look closely, you can almost see Edgerrin James’ numbers shrinking.

Panthers agreed to terms with OG Reggie Wells.
Having signed and released Max Jean-Gilles, the Panthers are moving from one Eagles reject to another at guard. The eight-year veteran has started 91 games in seven seasons, including all 16 with the Cardinals as recently as 2009.
  • FA Guard #74
    Panthers waived OL Reggie Wells.
Wells has now been cut by the Panthers twice this season. Although he’s now 31, the ex-Cardinal’s versatility should allow him to stick in the league.
  • FA Guard #74
    Packers signed G/T Reggie Wells.
The Packers are a little nicked up on the offensive line, so Wells is in for depth. The nine-year veteran has started 79 career games at tackle and 12 at guard, but has been out of the league since November of last season.
  • FA Guard #74
Packers released or waived G Reggie Wells, C Sampson Genus, C/G Tommie Draheim, T Andrew Datko, T Shea Allard and TE Brandon Bostick.
The journeyman Wells lasts just three weeks on the roster. Meanwhile, rumors are flying that the Packers have cut intriguing wideout prospects Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel. Both would make for interesting additions to receiver-needy teams.
  • FA Guard #74
    Chargers re-signed OL Reggie Wells.
Wells has now been released and re-signed three times by the Bolts since Week 1. Provided he remains on the roster until Sunday night’s game, he’ll either provide depth or be inactive against the Saints.

    Chargers released OL Reggie Wells.
Wells was just signed four days ago as insurance behind LT Mike Harris, but San Diego needed to clear a roster spot for recently signed cornerback Greg Gatson. The Chargers are banged up in the secondary, so Wells was the one to get his walking papers. He has the ability to play guard or tackle and is one of the better options on the free agent offensive line market.

    Chargers released OL Reggie Wells.
This is becoming a weekly occurrence. Wells has been released three weeks in a row by the Chargers. This time, San Diego needs room for recently signed kicker Nick Novak. Expect to see Wells back with the Bolts on Tuesday.
  • FA Guard #74
    Bills signed G/T Reggie Wells.
Wells will provide veteran depth for the Bills’ injury-ravaged line, and could see heavy snaps as early as Sunday. He had been on a roster merry-go-round with the Chargers, but yet to appear in a game this season. A 10th-year pro with experience at both guard and tackle, Wells appeared in five games for the Panthers in 2011.
