The Vikings and Dolphins have had preliminary trade talks concerning Randy Moss.
The Vikings initiated the trade talks that include some combination of Miami for a package that could include some combination of defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, cornerback Sam Madison, receiver Chris Chambers and draft picks. Too many possibilities here, but the Vikings are serious. Their cap room could help make a deal work.

Randy Moss is expected to be “a little limited” for next week’s game at Tennessee.
Moss strained his right hamstring in the second quarter of Sunday’s game. “It’s the first time I can remember him missing any time, coach Mike Tice said.

Minnesota coach Mike Tice is giving consideration to sitting Randy Moss for more than one game.
Reading between the lines, Moss sounds less than questionable this week. “We’ll just test it out and see what happens,” Moss said Monday. Marcus Robinson and Nate Burleson would be better plays this week without Moss on the field.
  • FA Wide Receiver #84
Randy Moss, questionable with a hamstring injury, isn’t likely to test his injury until Saturday.
The plan is currently for Moss to skip practice all week, but test the hamstring in a private workout Saturday. At that point, Minnesota will determine his status for the weekend. Stay tuned.

Randy Moss missed his third straight day of practice Friday and will be a gametime decision this weekend.
The Vikings are toying with just using Moss in goal-line situations. Moss ran on a treadmill today, but the team won’t announce his status until gametime. Moss owners should probably gamble and play him if he’s active.
  • FA Wide Receiver #84
Randy Moss could return to practice on Wednesday.
The Vikings will decide Wednesday whether Moss will practice in advance of Sunday’s game. We wouldn’t expect him to work until later in the week, although he looks more likely to get significant work this weekend.
  • FA Wide Receiver #84
Randy Moss (hamstring) completed practice Friday and was upgraded to probable.
It was his first fully completed practice in two weeks. He’s expected to play a significant role on Sunday, but won’t be fully healthy for a few weeks. We’d gamble and start him in most fantasy leagues.

An MRI confirmed a small tear in the right hamstring of Randy Moss.
It’s the same diagnosis as two weeks ago. Moss missed practice again Friday and is not expected to play this week.
  • FA Wide Receiver #84
The Vikings expect Randy Moss to play more extensively next Sunday.
Well, he can hardly play less than two snaps. Moss was reportedly “distraught” over being held out for most of the game, but the Vikings probably made the right move. Watch practice reports closely this week.
  • FA Wide Receiver #84
Randy Moss, questionable with a hamstring injury, returned to Vikings practice Wednesday.
He was limited and left practice early to get treatment. While Moss may not be fully healthy for a “few weeks,” it looks like he’ll have a bigger role this Sunday.
