    Jets released WR Quincy Enunwa.
This was a foreseeable move after the Jets placed Enunwa on the reserve/PUP list in early May. The 27-year-old has made only 12 appearances since 2017, fighting through constant neck injuries that have threatened his career. Explosive when healthy, it would not be shocking if Enunwa reemerged with another suitor in camp in 2021.

Jets placed WR Quincy Enunwa (neck) on the reserve/PUP list.
The Jets have gone from fining Enunwa for the nature of his 2019 rehab to sending him to reserve/PUP in May, which is a season-ending move at this stage of the offseason calendar. GM Joe Douglas had called Enunwa’s health a “big question mark. 27-year-old Enunwa has made just 12 NFL appearances since the end of the 2016 season. Unfortunately, it would appear his neck issues have all but ended his career.

Jets GM Joe Douglas admitted Quincy Enunwa (neck) remains a “big question mark” moving forward.
If he were healthy, Enunwa would probably slot in as the Jets’ No. 3 wideout behind Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder, but he isn’t healthy after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. He has a history of neck/spine ailments. Instead of mentioning Enunwa, Douglas pointed to guys like Vyncint Smith, Braxton Berrios, and Josh Doctson. The Jets should definitely address wideout in the draft later this month.

Speaking Tuesday, Jets GM Joe Douglas said he was “hopeful” Quincy Enunwa (neck) will play again.
Enunwa, who was limited to one game in 2019, revealed after the season that he had been diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Douglas said that Enunwa’s upcoming doctor’s appointment will be “big.” Enunwa said during the season there was just a 50 percent chance he will able to continue his career.

Quincy Enunwa revealed Monday that he has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
It’s not automatically a career-ending issue, but it is a complicating factor for a player who made just one 2019 appearance. Enunwa has dealt with two neck issues in three years. He also revealed Monday that he has not spoken with coach Adam Gase since tweeting about Gase’s fines for “missing” treatment. 27-year-old Enunwa is signed through 2021 in New York, but there is a strong chance he will end up elsewhere if cleared to continue his career. For what it’s worth, GM Joe Douglas has claimed he wants Enunwa back.

Quincy Enunwa (neck, IR) has been told there’s just a “50 percent chance” he’ll be able to resume his career.
Enunwa is trying to come back from two serious neck injuries in the last three years. The Jets recently fined him $28K for missing two treatments, so there’s some concern over how he’s attacking his rehab. Even if he gets cleared, this could be Enunwa’s last season in New York. The Jets can save $6 million in cap space from making Enunwa a post-June cut.

Quincy Enunwa will miss the remainder of the season with a neck injury.
Not good, especially after Enunwa missed all of 2017 with a neck injury. His career is in serious doubt, though coach Adam Gase wasn’t willing to go that far with it. The Jets just signed Enunwa to a multi-year extension last December. He’ll be 28 next year. The Jets will move forward with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder, and newcomer Demaryius Thomas in three-wide sets. Chris Herndon will be back soon after being suspended the first four games.

Quincy Enunwa failed to catch his only target in the Jets’ third preseason game.
Enunwa’s path to targets is bleak with Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder, and Le’Veon Bell ahead on the receiving pecking order, but Enunwa was at least used as a near full-time receiver this preseason. Still, there are likely better late-round fantasy options than Enunwa, who needs a major leap from Sam Darnold to warrant starter appeal.

Quincy Enunwa exited Tuesday’s practice with a groin injury.
Coach Adam Gase believes it’s a day-to-day thing for Enunwa, saying the receiver should be ready next week. Still, soft-tissue injuries rarely ever heal as planned and can linger an extra couple days. Either way, Enunwa should be good to go well ahead of Week 1, even if he misses some preseason reps.

Jets coach Adam Gase wants to expand Quincy Enunwa’s usage.
Enunwa mostly occupied a short-yardage role for the Jets last season, averaging a meager 11.8 yards per reception. Gase wants to change that, creating more downfield looks for Enunwa instead of the bubble screens he settled for under the last regime. “I don’t want to put him in a box,” said Gase. “I want him to be able to try to do as many things as he possibly can.” Enunwa landed a four-year extension in December, keeping him in East Rutherford through his age-29 season.
