Panthers signed No. 8 overall pick WR Tetairoa McMillan to a four-year contract.
The Panthers officially bring their X-wide receiver into the fold via a $27.93 million deal. McMillan should immediately compete for the team lead in targets and should produce fantasy-friendly results in year one. The Panthers also signed third-round OLB Princely Umanmielen, fourth-round S Lathan Ransom, fifth-round DT Cam Jackson, fifth-round TE Mitchell Evans and sixth-round WR Jimmy Horn Jr.. Dynasty managers should take note of Horn, who could eventually work his way into three-wide receiver sets.
  • Panthers traded up with the Patriots to select Ole Miss EDGE Princely Umanmielen with the No. 77 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Umanmielen (6’4/244) is a former top recruit who spent his first four years at Florida, before taking off for Mississippi. He was a productive pass rusher who posted a 22.9% win rate with 100 pressures in 2023 and 2024 combined and four straight seasons with a pass rush grade of 83.0 or higher. He tends to work upfield and spin back to the inside where he has a 40.6% win rate to create havoc play and secondary sack opportunities. He tested well at the Combine with 96th percentile jumps, a 1.61s 10-yard split (90th%) and a 4.72s 40-yard dash (83rd%) for a combined 8.90 Relative Athletic Score. His advanced bend allows Umanmielen to dip around blockers and storm the backfield. He’ll get a chance to work into the Panthers’ EDGE rotation in 2025.

Florida signed four-star 2020 DE Princely Umanmielen.
The Gators lost out on four-star S Avantae Williams -- who they had been favorites to sign -- earlier on Wednesday, but signing the uncommitted Umanmielen works as a nice bit of a salve. Baylor, Texas and Auburn were all serious players for the Manor, Texas, native in addition to Florida. While the 6-foot-4, 249-pounder is a bit on the lanky side right now, he has a frame which could easily add healthy playing weight once he hits the strength and conditioning program in Gainesville. Umanmielen plays with nice quickness and is more than capable against the run, though he could use added moves as a pass-rusher, as well as a little more overall consistency. On the 247Sports composite board, he lands as the No. 241 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2020 DE Princely Umanmielen is taking an official visit to Texas on Thursday.
Umanmielen (6'4/249) had earlier been committed to Texas from August into October before he reopened his recruitment. The Longhorns very much remain a player for his ultimate signature, though. Florida, Auburn and Baylor are three other programs to watch come National Signing Day. On the 247Sports composite board, Umanmielen slots in as the No. 241 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Texas four-star 2020 DE commit Princely Umanmielen has decided to reopen his recruitment.
Umanmielen (6'4/249), who verbally committed to Texas in mid-August, announced his decision to reopen his recruitment Wednesday morning by way of his Twitter account. At the time of his commitment the four-star defensive end from Manor, Texas was also being pursued by schools such as Arizona, Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Umanmielen picked up an offer from Auburn in September, and that same month he also took an official visit to Oklahoma. Texas is now down to 19 verbal commitments in its 2020 class to date.

Texas received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 DE Princely Umanmielen.
Having already landed a Prince (Dorbah) in the 2020 recruiting class, Texas reeled in another highly-regarded recruit of “royalty” Monday in the form of four-star defensive end Princely Umanmielen. The rising senior at Manor HS (Manor, Texas) picked the Longhorns over offers from schools such as Arizona, Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M just to name a few. Listed at 6-foot-4, 249 pounds by 247Sports.com, Umanmielen is still scheduled to take official visits to Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M this fall. The 15th verbal commitment in Texas’ 2020 class, Umanmielen (who’s considered to be a defensive end right now) has the frame to take on the weight needed to move inside at the college level.
