STAMFORD, Conn. – May 18, 2016 – NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra present more than 30 hours of motorsports coverage this weekend, highlighted by season opening races in the Red Bull Global RallyCross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series, and 15 hours of Mecum Auctions action from Dana Mecum’s 29th Annual Original Spring Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide streaming coverage of this weekend’s Red Bull Global RallyCross, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and Mecum Auctions events.


NBCSN PRESENTS RED BULL GLOBAL RALLYCROSS SEASON-OPENER FROM PHOENIX SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET

The Red Bull Global RallyCross season begins this weekend as the series makes its inaugural visit to Phoenix with the first of four doubleheaders on the 2016 schedule. This year’s slate includes stops in Dallas, Daytona Beach, Washington D.C., and Seattle, and concludes with a season-ending doubleheader in Los Angeles on October 8-9. NBC and NBCSN will air 25 hours of coverage of the 2016 Red Bull Global RallyCross series, with most events premiering on NBC, and encore presentations airing on NBCSN.

LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP – HANGTOWN – SATURDAY AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship schedule begins this weekend with the 48th running of the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Sacramento, Calif., this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Reigning 450 Class Champion Ryan Dungey will look to build off of last season’s momentum and earn his first career win at Hangtown, the only event on the schedule that he’s never won. Jeremy Martin enters the 2016 season following back-to-back 250 Class Championships, and will aim to become the fifth rider to earn three consecutive season titles.

Veteran play-by-play voice Jason Weigandt, analyst and two-time AMA Pro Motocross Champion Grant Langston, and pit reporter Georgia Lindsay will call this weekend’s action from Sacramento, Calif. This year, NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra will combine to air 40 hours of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship coverage, including 11 hours of live coverage. NBCSN PRESENTS 15 HOURS OF MECUM AUCTIONS COVERAGE FROM INDIANAPOLIS BEGINNING THURSDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET

More than 2,000 vehicles will cross the auction block this weekend at Dana Mecum’s 29th Annual Original Spring Classic, highlighted by more than 30 Hemi-powered cars and at least 10 V10-powered Dodge Vipers. Coverage kicks off this Thursday on NBCSN at 3:30 p.m. ET, and continues on Friday at noon ET with three straight hours of live coverage. Saturday’s coverage on NBCSN begins at 11 a.m. ET, and continues later that evening at 9 p.m. ET.

Scott Hoke will host NBCSN’s Mecum Auctions coverage on-site in Kissimmee, alongside analysts John Kraman, Stephen Cox, and Bill Stephens.

NBCSN will also showcase the Indy Lights series this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, preceding Global RallyCross coverage from Phoenix, with a presentation of last weekend’s race at the Indianapolis Grand Prix road circuit. Kevin Lee (play-by-play), Anders Krohn (analyst), and Katie Hargitt (reporter) provide commentary.
