NBC Sports Group and Universal Sports Network Combine to Present 28 Hours of Coverage

14 Total Hours on NBC and NBCSN, 14 Hours on Universal Sports Network

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 29, 2015 – NBC Sports Group and Universal Sports Network will present 28 hours of coverage of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek, Colo., from Feb. 3-15. The record television coverage across three networks includes 5.5 hours of coverage planned for NBC, 8.5 hours for NBCSN and 14 for Universal Sports. Additionally, NBC Sports Live Extra will stream all NBC and NBCSN telecasts; UniversalSports.com will stream all Universal Sports coverage.

Coverage begins Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN featuring Lindsey Vonn (Vail, Colo.) in the Super G. Vonn secured her 64th World Cup victory last Sunday in St. Moritz, and heads into the World Championship speed races as the all-time women’s World Cup wins leader. Among those looking to upset Vail’s hometown hero are overall World Cup leaders Tina Maze (SLO) and Anna Fenninger (AUT), and teammates Julia Mancuso (Squaw Valley, Calif.), Stacey Cook (Mammoth Mountain, Calif.) and Laurenne Ross (Bend, Ore.).

Coverage of the World Championships continues through the two-week event on NBC, NBCSN and Universal Sports Network. Coverage heading into the final weekend of competition, highlighted by the Women’s Slalom Finals on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC, features reigning World Champion and 2014 Olympic Gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin (Vail, Colo.) in her signature event. The competition will culminate on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when the U.S. Ski Team’s Ted Ligety (Park City, Utah) and David Chodounsky (Crested Butte, Colo.) are expected to race against World Cup leaders Felix Neureuther (GER) and Marcel Hirscher (AUT) in the slalom.

The broadcast team of Dan Hicks (play-by-play), Steve Porino (analyst), Todd Brooker (analyst), Christin Cooper (analyst), and Carolyn Manno (reporter) will call the action from Beaver Creek. Steve Schlanger will serve as host of the post-race shows.

NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices and tablets – will stream all programming that airs on NBC and NBCSN. UniversalSports.com will live stream all programming that airs on Universal Sports Network.
