STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 19, 2024 – Two-time reigning Olympic halfpipe gold medalist Chloe Kim headlines NBC Sports’ coverage of snowboarding’s Toyota U.S. Grand Prix, beginning this Saturday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. ET on CNBC and Peacock from Copper Mountain, Colo., with halfpipe finals. Coverage concludes the next day, Dec. 22, at 4:30 p.m. ET with freeski halfpipe finals on NBC and Peacock.
Copper Mountain features a summit of 12,441 feet and a vertical of 2,738 feet in the winter, additionally boasting an Olympic-sized halfpipe and slopestyle course. The Toyota U.S. Grand Prix is the longest-running winter action sports tour and has been a major part of the Stifel U.S. Freeski Team and Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team Olympic qualification series since 1998.
Notable athletes expected to compete at Copper Mountain include two-time reigning Olympic halfpipe gold medalist Chloe Kim, two-time Olympic halfpipe medalist and three-time Winter X Games gold medalist Alex Ferreira, reigning Olympic men’s snowboard gold medalist and defending Copper Mountain halfpipe champion Ayumu Hirano (Japan), three-time Olympic slopestyle medalist Nick Goepper, two-time Olympic halfpipe gold medalist David Wise, up-and-coming sensation Bea Kim, who finished third overall in FIS women’s halfpipe World Cup standings last year, and reigning world halfpipe champion Hanna Faulhaber, who placed sixth overall in the freeski halfpipe at the Beijing Olympics.
During Saturday and Sunday’s finals, the best one run of three runs counts.
Additionally, NBC Sports will present live Nordic Combined coverage from Ramsau, Austria, exclusively on Peacock this weekend, beginning with the women’s mass start on Friday, Dec. 20, at 7:15 a.m. ET. For the full weekend schedule, see the chart below.
For Copper Mountain, Todd Harris will handle play-by-play alongside 1998 Nagano Olympic snowboarder and seven-time Winter X Games medalist Todd Richards as well as 2013 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championship slopestyle champion Tom Wallisch. Four-time Winter X Games medalist Tina Dixon will serve as an on-site reporter.
