STAMFORD, Conn. – May 10, 2021 – NBC Sports presents a pair of NHL games this week ahead of the conclusion of the 2021 regular season, headlined by Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins against Mathew Barzal and the New York Islanders in a matchup with playoff seeding ramifications in the NHL East Division tonight at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The Bruins can clinch the No. 3 seed if they earn at least one point against the fourth-ranked Islanders. Coverage gets underway with NHL Live at 6:30 p.m. ET.
On Wednesday, Ryan O’Reilly and the St. Louis Blues face Calder Trophy contender Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild in a clash between playoff-bound teams at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN. NHL Live begins coverage at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Blues have secured the final playoff spot in the West Division, while the Wild continue to battle with the Colorado Avalanche for the No. 2 playoff seed in the division.
During the first intermission of Wild-Blues, Sunday Night Football commentators Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth and new Football Night in America studio analyst Drew Brees will join NBC Sports’ Mike Tirico to discuss the 2021 SNF schedule, which will be unveiled on Wednesday evening.
