STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 3, 2023 – Seven-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles is set to make her return to gymnastics during NBC Sports’ live coverage of the Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., this Saturday, August 5, at 2 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC, with the second session of the day beginning in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC.

This will be four-time Olympic gold medalist Biles’ first competition since the Tokyo Olympics. Biles (2016 Olympics singular all-around champion) will be joined by fellow Olympic all-around gold medalist Suni Lee (Tokyo Olympics).

In Tokyo, Biles earned two Olympic medals (silver in team, bronze in balance beam), after a historic 2016 Rio Olympic performance that saw her win four gold medals and one bronze. Biles’ seven Olympic medals ties her with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast, while her 25 World Championship medals and 19 world titles are both all-time records.

This weekend’s competition is also expected to feature three-time Tokyo Olympic medalist and all-around champion Lee, Tokyo Olympic floor exercise gold medalist Jade Carey, Tokyo Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles, three-time World Championship medalist Leanne Wong, and 2021 world all-around bronze medalist and Paris Olympic hopeful Kayla DiCello.

Terry Gannon will serve as play-by-play alongside three-time U.S. Olympic gymnast John Roethlisberger and 2008 Beijing Olympic team silver medalist Samantha Peszek. Zora Stephenson will serve as reporter.

The Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic serves as the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships that are set to take place in San Jose, Calif., from August 24-27. The 2023 World Gymnastics Championships take place later this year in Antwerp, Belgium, from September 30-October 8. Programming details for both events will be announced at a later date.
