With 2020 Boston Marathon Originally Scheduled for Monday, 20-Hour “Marathon Marathon” Features Each Boston Marathon Since 2014
Throughout the Week, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA Presents Encores of Berlin, Chicago, London, and Tokyo Marathons Dating Back to 2016
STAMFORD, Conn. – April 17, 2020 – With the 2020 Boston Marathon, originally scheduled for this Monday, April 20, postponed until Sept. 14, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents a “Marathon marathon” in its place. The 20-hour Boston Marathon stunt will kick off Marathon Week on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.
Beginning Monday at 6 a.m. ET, each of the last six Boston Marathons will be featured, with the 2014 and 2015 events televised twice. The Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest annual marathon started in 1897, traditionally runs through several cities and towns in the greater Boston area on the third Monday each April.
The 2014 Boston Marathon features Meb Keflezighi becoming the first American man to win the Boston Marathon since 1983 and a record-breaking performance by Buzunesh Deba of Ethiopia, who set a women’s course record with a time of 2:19:59.
The 2017 Boston Marathon features a thrilling finish as American Galen Rupp places second, finishing 21 seconds behind winner Geoffrey Kirui of Kenya. In 2018, Des Linden becomes the first American woman to win the Boston Marathon since 1985.

On Sunday, April 26, the originally scheduled date for the 2020 London Marathon – which was postponed until Oct. 4 -- Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present 17 consecutive hours of London Marathons from 2016-19.
