U.S. Women’s Basketball Begins Quest For Seventh Consecutive Gold Medal vs. Nigeria this Monday, July 26 at 12:40 a.m. ET/9:40 p.m. PT Live on USA Network

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 24, 2021 – NBC Olympics will bring back the iconic “Roundball Rock’ theme song for men’s and women’s basketball in Tokyo, beginning tomorrow as the Team USA men face France at 8 a.m. ET live on Peacock.

The iconic “Roundball Rock” score, composed by John Tesh, served as the theme music for the NBA on NBC from 1990-2002. Over its 12-year span, NBC Sports presented numerous iconic players and teams, including Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty, and Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant leading the Los Angeles Lakers’ reign.

The biggest stars in men’s professional basketball on Team USA, headlined by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green, play their first game of the Tokyo Olympics tomorrow when they face Rudy Gobert and France live at 8 a.m. ET on Peacock (encores will be presented later in the day at 4 p.m. ET on NBC and midnight ET on NBCSN). Team USA aims for their fourth consecutive gold medal.

U.S. Women’s Basketball begins its quest for a seventh consecutive gold medal, one of the greatest gold medal runs in the history of the sport, when they play Nigeria this Monday, July 26 live at 12:40 a.m. ET/9:40 p.m. PT on USA Network. Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi can become the first basketball players to win five gold medals at the Olympics.
