NBC Sports Presents More Than 15 Hours of Trackside NASCAR Coverage from Kentucky Highlighted By Quaker State 400 on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 11, 2018 – The Verizon IndyCar Series hits the streets of Toronto this weekend, as NBC Sports presents live coverage of the Honda Indy Toronto this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Pre-race coverage begins at 3 p.m. ET with IndyCar Live Presented by Verizon.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app — NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs — will provide live streaming coverage of the Honda Indy Toronto.

NBC Sports’ motorsports coverage this weekend will also feature more than 15 hours of trackside NASCAR coverage from Kentucky, culminating in the Quaker State 400 on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

INDYCAR HONDA INDY TORONTO – SUNDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Verizon IndyCar Series makes its annual visit north of the border to Toronto this weekend, coming off the heels of a victory by a Canadian in Iowa last weekend. James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) took the checkered flag following a caution on Lap 295 of 300 to earn his first win since the 2017 Long Beach Grand Prix and the sixth win of his IndyCar career. The Honda Indy Toronto serves as a home race for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports – Hinchcliffe hails from nearby Oakville, Ont., rookie teammate Robert Wickens is a native of Guelph, Ont., and many of the team principals are Canadian.

Four-time series champion Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) currently leads all drivers in the championship standings, and holds a 33-point lead over defending series champion Josef Newgarden (Team Penske). Dixon boasts five podiums in his last seven races, including victories at Texas and Detroit. His first and only victory at Toronto came in 2014. Newgarden, who finished fourth at Iowa on Sunday, won the Honda Indy Toronto in 2015 and 2017.

Coverage from Toronto begins Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN with qualifying, prior to pre-race coverage with IndyCar Live Presented by Verizon on Sunday at 3 p.m. Pre-race coverage will be highlighted by IndyCar on NBC analyst Paul Tracy’s interview with Hinchcliffe and Wickens. Tracy grew up in nearby West Hill, Ont., and was a two-time winner in Toronto (1993 and 2003).

Lead IndyCar play-by-play commentator Leigh Diffey will call this weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto alongside Tracy and Townsend Bell. Robin Miller, Kevin Lee, Jon Beekhuis and Katie Hargitt will report from the pits. In addition, the Indy Lights Toronto race will air Monday, July 17, at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Kevin Lee, Anders Krohn, and Katie Hargitt will call the action.

NBC Sports is the exclusive television home of the Verizon IndyCar Series in the United States. Following the final nine races of this season on NBCSN, NBC Sports will present all present all IndyCar races, qualifying, practices, and Indy Lights races across its platforms beginning in 2019, including the Indianapolis 500 and an additional seven races on NBC.

AMERICAN FLAT TRACK WEEDSPORT SHORT TRACK – SUNDAY AT 1 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Coverage of the 2018 American Flat Track season continues this weekend with the Weedsport Short Track from Weedsport, N.Y., on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN. American Flat Track is the most historic form of American motorcycle racing and is in the midst of its 65th season. Coverage from all 18 events will feature flag-to-flag coverage of both racing classes on NBCSN.

NBC SPORTS PRESENTS MORE THAN 15 HOURS OF TRACKSIDE NASCAR COVERAGE FROM KENTUCKY HIGHLIGHTED BY QUAKER STATE 400 ON SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBC Sports Group rolls into its third week of 2018 NASCAR on NBC racing with 21 hours of NASCAR programming, culminating with the Quaker State 400 this Saturday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. NBC Sports will super serve fans with 16 hours of trackside coverage from Kentucky Speedway including Xfinity Series racing on Friday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
