INDY 500 POLE POSITION DETERMINED THIS WEEKEND ON NBC

Nearly 15 Hours of Live Practice and Qualifying Coverage for 105th Running of Indianapolis 500 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway Saturday and Sunday on NBC, NBCSN and Peacock

Jimmie Johnson and Steve Letarte to Serve as Peacock Pit Box Analysts During Qualifying Weekend

105th Indianapolis 500 Presented by Gainbridge on Sunday, May 30 at 11 a.m. ET on NBC

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 20, 2021 – The pole position for The Greatest Spectacle in Racing will be determined this weekend on NBC, as NBC Sports presents nearly 15 hours of live coverage of qualifying and practice for the 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Presented by Gainbridge from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on NBC, NBCSN and Peacock.

Coverage begins on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. ET on Peacock, continues on NBC at 2 p.m. ET and shifts to NBCSN at 3 p.m. ET. Saturday’s qualifying will help determine the drivers who will compete for the pole position in the Fast Nine Shootout on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Sunday also sees Last Chance Qualifying, which includes the return of ‘Bump Day’ as teams try to claim the final three positions in the Indy 500 field. Last Chance Practice and Fast Nine Practice will be available exclusively on Peacock on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET. Sunday’s qualifying coverage gets underway at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN and continues on NBC for two hours of coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ Indianapolis 500 broadcast team of Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), Townsend Bell (analyst), and Paul Tracy (analyst) will call this weekend’s qualifying coverage on NBC, NBCSN and Peacock alongside pit reporters Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast, Kevin Lee, and Dave Burns. INDYCAR rookie and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and NBC Sports’ Steve Letarte will serve as Peacock Pit Box analysts during qualifying coverage.
