    49ers declined Pierre Garcon’s 2019 option.
Owed $6 million in salary and bonuses, it would have been a shock if the 49ers decided to keep Garcon around. Garcon finishes his time in San Francisco with just 64 catches for 786 yards and a touchdown in 16 games across two seasons. Set to turn 33 before the start of the season, Garcon will likely find a cold market.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
49ers placed WR Pierre Garcon (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Garcon needs a knee scope. The 32-year-old has played eight games each of his first two seasons in San Francisco and has become extremely injury-prone after not missing a game his last four years with the Redskins. Garcon very well may have played his final down for the Niners. In 16 games with the team, he has 64 grabs for 786 yards and one touchdown. Dante Pettis and Marquise Goodwin will be the starters the rest of the way.

Pierre Garcon (knee) is out for Week 14 against the Broncos.
The Niners will start Marquise Goodwin, Dante Pettis, and Kendrick Bourne in three-wide sets. Rookie Jeff Wilson will also start in place of Matt Breida (ankle, out). Although Goodwin will be back on the field for the first time since Week 10, Pettis remains a high-floor option given his peppering of shallow targets over the middle of the field. He’s a safe WR3, whereas Goodwin remains a boom-or-bust option.

Pierre Garcon (knee) remained sidelined at Friday’s practice.
It’s shaping up to be another week for rookie Dante Pettis to continue his torrential production. Even with Marquise Goodwin (personal) likely back, Pettis should continue working as San Francisco’s primary No. 2 against Denver’s injury-riddled secondary. Pettis has averaged seven targets and 4.5/103/1.5 receiving the past two weeks and will remain a high-floor WR3 in Week 14.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Pierre Garcon (knee) was downgraded to “DNP” in Thursday’s practice.
It’s looking like Garcon is going to miss yet another game, leaving Dante Pettis and Marquise Goodwin as the 49ers’ top-two wideouts.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Pierre Garcon (knee) was limited at Wednesday’s practice.
Garcon didn’t play despite being limited all last week. In a Nick Mullens offense, Garcon won’t be a fantasy option even if he returns Sunday.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Pierre Garcon (knee) is out for Week 13 against the Seahawks.
Marquise Goodwin (personal) has already been ruled out, too. Nick Mullens will be tasked in fending off Seattle’s swarming secondary with Dante Pettis, Kendrick Bourne, and Richie James as the team’s starting wideouts. George Kittle is the only must-start option in San Francisco’s offense.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Pierre Garcon (knee) remained “limited” on Thursday.
Garcon has made just one appearance since Week 7 but seems to have a legitimate shot at returning against the Seahawks. With the 49ers’ passing attack in disarray, Garcon will be a barely-there WR5.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Pierre Garcon (knee) was limited at Wednesday’s practice.
Garcon has missed the last two games. This puts on track to return after he was an early rule out last week. With Marquise Goodwin’s status up in the air, Garcon could see a decent target share if active.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Pierre Garcon (knee) is out for Week 12 against the Buccaneers.
Garcon was ultimately unable to practice ahead of Week 12, forcing him to be sidelined in a juicy matchup against the Bucs’ swiss-cheese secondary. His absence should open up more opportunities for George Kittle. Even without Garcon, Nick Mullens is considered a low-end QB1 given the tasty matchup on paper.
