Raiders cornerback Phillip Buchanan was injured in the first quarter of Sunday’s game.
Oakland was missing Buchanan and Charles Woodson yesterday and it showed. Jacksonville should put up big numbers on them next week.
  • FA Defensive Back
Raiders cornerback Phillip Buchanan wants to be traded this offseason.
Don’t look for it to happen. Buchanan has a cheap contract and Charles Woodson may not be back with the team. We can’t imagine the problem child will attract aggressive interest around the league.
  • FA Defensive Back
The Redskins are exploring many trades with their No. 9 pick, including a deal to Oakland for Phillip Buchanon and Oakland’s second round pick.
Joe Gibbs is hoping to add one more underachieving punk he can’t control. Whether this deal happens or not, look for Oakland to be active trying to deal Buchanon or Charles Woodson this week.

Raiders cornerback Phillip Buchanan is doubtful for week 16 with a bruised tailbone.
Trent Green and Eddie Kennison owners rejoice! The Raiders will be missing Buchanan and Charles Woodson - their top two cornerbacks.

Phillip Buchanon is lining up as the Texans’ nickel back.
DeMarcus Faggins and Dunta Robinson are their scheduled starting corners. Buchanon has reportedly impressed in early work.
  • FA Defensive Back
Redskins CB Phillip Buchanon’s four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances will end on Monday.
Buchanon should take over as the Redskins’ nickel back, though Kevin Barnes has played well in his absence. Buchanon suffered a shoulder injury in Washington’s final preseason game, making it unclear if he’ll be ready to go in Week 6 against the Eagles.
  • FA Defensive Back
Redskins placed CB Phillip Buchanon (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The Redskins’ nickel back in 2010, Buchanon was re-signed to a one-year contract after the lockout ended. He served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy before rejoining the team in October. Brandyn Thompson and Kareem Moore are candidates to take his spot on the roster.
  • FA Defensive Back #34
Kevin Barnes will remain the Redskins’ nickel back despite the return of Phillip Buchanon from suspension.
A former third-round pick finally getting playing time in his third season, Barnes has held his own with eight tackles and a pick through four games. He’s been covering the slot on all nickel downs, allowing LCB DeAngelo Hall and RCB Josh Wilson to stay outside. Permitting just a 9.0 YPC and a 50-percent completion rate so far, Barnes is a better option than Buchanon at this point.
  • FA Defensive Back
Texans cornerback Phillip Buchananon was benched during Sunday’s loss.
Maybe the Raiders knew what they were doing. ''Showtime’’ has been getting burned regularly. Aaron Glenn might come in handy about now.
