MIAMI – The Phillies made some roster moves before the opener of a four-game series against the Miami Marlins on Thursday night.
Reliever James Norwood was activated from the bereavement list and reliever Andrew Bellatti had his contract selected from the minors.
The right-handers replaced Connor Brogdon and Damon Jones on the active roster. Both were optioned to Triple A on Wednesday.

Bellatti had been in big-league spring training camp as a non-roster invitee. He has pitched in the majors with Tampa Bay and Miami.
Norwood has pitched in the majors with the Cubs and Padres. He was acquired by the Phillies in a trade late in camp. He is a hard thrower with what manager Joe Girardi called a “fantastic splitter.”
In other matters, Jean Segura was out of the starting lineup Thursday night. He was hit by a pitch in the area of the left hand/wrist in Wednesday’s game. Girardi said Segura also jammed his shoulder diving in the field in that game.
Girardi said Segura was day-to-day.

Bryson Stott started at second base in place of Segura. Johan Camargo got the start at third.
