Corey Seidman and Jim Salisbury debate if giving former Giants and White Sox starter Carlos Rodon, a long-term deal would be worth it for the Phillies.
The Phillies on Tuesday added outfielder Johan Rojas to their 40-man roster. The move protects the team from losing him in next month's Rule 5 draft.
Rojas, 22, split the 2022 season between High A Jersey Shore and Double A Reading. He hit .260 with eight doubles, five triples, four homers and 16 RBIs in 60 games at Reading.
Defense is a strength for Rojas. He is a pure centerfielder with speed. He stole 62 bases in 130 games in 2022 and was caught just five times.

After the minor-league season, Rojas played in 12 games for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League. He went 13 for 42 at the plate (.310) and had four doubles and a triple. He was a perfect 13 for 13 in stolen base attempts.
Rojas was the Phillies' only addition to the 40-man roster, which stands at 37.
