
After a 22-29 start to the season, Joe Girardi was fired as Phillies manager.
The move was made Friday morning with the club set to open a three-game series against the Angels at Citizens Bank Park (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP).
Bench coach Rob Thomson will take over as interim manager for the rest of the 2022 season.
