Penn State football took a hit Tuesday night.

The Kennesaw, Georgia native is the fourth-ranked 2018 prospect by ESPN and the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback. According to Rivals.com, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Fields has received 38 scholarships offers.

The Harrison High School product originally committed to Penn State in December.

Two hours after Fields' announcement, Penn State head coach James Franklin tweeted:

Penn State went 11-3 last season, won the Big Ten championship and lost the Rose Bowl in a 52-49 thriller to USC.
