VOORHEES, N.J. — Wednesday was a sight to see at Flyers Skate Zone.
Nolan Patrick took part in the Flyers' practice.
Patrick has been out since the beginning of training camp with a migraine disorder. He hasn't practiced with the Flyers since the end of October, when he was starting to do so in a non-contact jersey.
On Wednesday, he was wearing a white jersey, along with Michael Raffl, Connor Bunnaman and Nicolas Aube-Kubel, so it appeared Patrick was possibly cleared for contact.
However, there was a caveat.
Afterward, head coach Alain Vigneault said Wednesday was a skills practice. The Flyers will use Thursday morning for a game preparation practice ahead of the team's matchup that night with the Devils at the Wells Fargo Center (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP).

"As far as I know, there are no medical updates," Vignealt said about Patrick's status. "My understanding, today I decided to make this a skill day and when Nolan found that it was just going to be skill, he wanted to go out and skate with the guys. That’s the extent of what happened today.
“It created a little buzz, though, eh?”
So Patrick has not been cleared for contact?
“I could not tell you," Vigneault said. "All I know is I came here this morning, I decided we’re going to skate [Thursday] morning, said we’re going to do a skill day on the ice [today]. He found that out and decided to go and skate with the guys.”
It's unknown when Patrick will return but both he and the Flyers have said the expectation is for the 21-year-old center to play this season. If/when he does come back, he could bolster the Flyers' depth down the middle and possibly allow Claude Giroux to shift back to the wing.
Patrick was not made available to the media after practice, nor was general manager Chuck Fletcher. Kevin Hayes (maintenance) and Joel Farabee (sick) did not practice, so here's what the Flyers looked like at forward.
