The Flyers were determined to be substantially better with the puck on Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center following their sloppy 6-1 loss to the Sabres on Monday night.
The different puck, that is.

SIGN UP HERE The NHL's puck-tracking initiative was put on hold Tuesday across the league. The puck-tracking technology includes a sensor embedded in the puck. Over the opening days of the 2020-21 regular season, concerns with the puck were apparently voiced around the league.
Here is a statement released from the NHL ahead of Tuesday night's games:
Regardless of the actual type of puck, the Flyers were eager to be much sharper and cleaner with it Tuesday. Alain Vigneault's club did not play well Monday night in suffering its first loss of the season and falling to 2-1-0.
The "tracking pucks" were used over the Flyers' first three games and the other games across the league prior to Tuesday night.

"I was aware that the NHL was using a different puck," Vigneault said pregame Tuesday when asked about the league's audible with its pucks. "I thought a couple of times it didn’t slide as well on the ice, didn’t know if that was the puck or the ice surface. Not quite sure exactly what they’re using tonight. I’m sure that they'll figure it out here, it's early in the season and they’ll do the right thing."
