With the 2020 NFL Draft complete, football fans have turned their attention to the fall, when they hope to see their newest players hit the field.
For Eagles fans eager to see Jalen Reagor's debut, they might have to wait a few extra weeks.
The NFL is considering a delayed start to its 2020 regular season, according to a report Monday from the Sports Business Journal, which could see the season start as late as Oct. 15 - roughly six weeks into the normal schedule - amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The goal for the 2020 regular season would still be to play a 16-game schedule, according to the SBJ, but could put bye weeks and the Pro Bowl in jeopardy.
League sources told the SBJ "none of the plans are final", but the contingency plans are being discussed by league decision makers.
A delayed start to the season would also mean a pushed-back Super Bowl, and could push the championship game as late as Feb. 28. Super Bowl LV, which is scheduled to be played on Feb. 7, 2021, is currently expected to be played in Tampa Bay.
A report from NBC Sports' Peter King in late March suggested that the league could release its 2020 schedule some time in May:

In light of the question marks about the start of this year, the backloading of division games and a May schedule release seem likely.
The NBA and NHL both suspended their 2019-20 regular seasons on March 11 and March 12, respectively, and have yet to resume, while MLB suspended spring training on 12 and has yet to begin its 2020 regular season.
