The normally-calm Nick Foles was as angry as I have ever seen him.
During the Eagles’ failed two-point conversion in the second quarter of Sunday’s 32-30 win over the Texans on Sunday afternoon, the refs just flat out missed a call.
Jadeveon Clowney sacked Foles but brought him down with his facemask. No question about it. The refs just simply missed the call and Foles was rightfully hot.
But guess what?
“He didn’t cuss,” right tackle Lane Johnson said. “I was right there.”
That’s OK, Nick. I’m sure the rest of Philadelphia more than made up for it.
Johnson said he doesn’t think he’s ever heard the very religious Foles use a curse word. So he was listening closely, thinking this was his chance. He seems to remember Foles went with “What the freak?” but he wasn’t exactly sure. He just knew it wasn’t a curse word.
But it was pretty clear Foles was not happy.
“That is not what I normally do, but I also know that (referee) John (Parry) and I did talk later,” Foles said after the win. “It is hard for them to see every angle and I understand that. I was a little upset and I shouldn’t do that, but I was fired up a little bit. It is a game. We are going out there to win against one of the best teams in the NFL right now, so we were able to calm back down, get the crowd going and ultimately get a W.”
