The Eagles made a surprising pick with the 51st overall selection on Friday night. But Center Cam Jurgens from Nebraska drew praise from both Ray Didinger and Barrett Brooks.

The Eagles on Friday announced that they have signed second-round pick Cam Jurgens, the final Eagles draft pick from 2022 who remained unsigned.

Now the entire five-man class is under contract.

The Eagles signed Jordan Davis, Kyron Johnson and Grant Calcaterra on May 5 and signed Nakobe Dean on May 16.

These five contracts are standard four-year rookie deals but the Eagles will have a fifth-year option on Davis’s contract for the 2026 season that must be exercised in the 2025 offseason.

These days, getting draft picks under contract is more of a formality. Before the 2011 CBA we would often see rookie holdouts but slotted contracts have done away with that.

Based on OverTheCap’s estimates, the Eagles’ rookie pool for 2022 is just over $7.38 million. But they need just about $3.86 million in cap space to sign these draft picks. Not all of them will count based on the top-51 rule (just the top 51 contracts counts against the cap) in the offseason.

Here’s a look at projected base salaries and cap hits for these contracts, via OverTheCap:
