DETROIT — Former starting linebacker Eric Wilson is a surprise inactive for the Eagles’ game against the Lions at Ford Field on Sunday.
Wilson, 27, was not on the Eagles’ injury report this week so he’s a healthy scratch against the Lions.
In recent weeks, Wilson has seen his snaps decrease. He played just 22 defensive snaps last week. The Eagles didn’t pay him a ton this offseason — he got a one-year, $2.75 million deal — but Wilson appears to be another failed free agent linebacker signing.

Without Wilson, there will presumably be more snaps for young linebacker Davion Taylor and Shaun Bradley.
The Eagles will also be without starting safety Anthony Harris for the second straight week.
Harris came into the weekend listed as doubtful for the game against the Lions. He has injuries to both hands and his groin. In his place, expect Marcus Epps and K’Von Wallace to fill in next to Rodney McLeod.
Here’s the Eagles’ full list of inactives:
NFL
S Anthony Harris
C/G Jack Anderson
QB Reid Sinnett
DT Marlon Tuipulotu
LB Eric Wilson
CB Mac McCain
G Sua Opeta
After the trade of Joe Flacco last week, quarterback Gardner Minshew is active for the first time as an Eagle. He was a healthy scratch the first seven weeks of the season. Third-stringer Sinnett, whom the Eagles recently claimed off waivers from Miami, is inactive.
Wallace is active after missing a the last several weeks with a shoulder injuries suffered in Week 3. He had been starting in place of Rodney McLeod before that injury that landed him on Injured Reserve. The Eagles just activated Wallace off IR on Saturday.
In addition to activating Wallace, the Eagles also elevated RB Jordan Howard and TE Richard Rodgers for this game. Both are active.
With Miles Sanders on IR, expect Kenny Gainwell, Boston Scott and Howard to fill in at running back.
Rodgers is up as the Eagles’ third tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Jack Stoll. Tyree Jackson is still on IR but is nearing a return. He’ll be the No. 3 once he’s back.
Tay Gowan, the corner the Eagles got back in the Zach Ertz trade, is active with the Eagles for the first time.
