Ben Simmons’ new shoes are a throwback look.
As part of a “Pregame Pack” that also features shoes from Luka Doncic, De'Aaron Fox and Britney Griner, Simmons’ Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage “Motivation” will be released on May 21.
You can see in the photos below from Nike that the shoes include a series of words that are meaningful to Simmons, such as “Pride and Passion,” “Dedication,” “Neighborhood" and “Family.” It’s an old-school concept with a few flourishes.

There’s also a plaid version of the shoe, as you can see in the photos below from goat.com. The little crown over the No. 25 on the back — presumably a symbol of Simmons being the “Fresh Prince” of Philadelphia — is a nice touch.
NBA
These shoes stand out from the average NBA player’s footwear. They’re definitely a fashion statement, however you feel about them.
