ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports free agent WR Percy Harvin is “ready to return to the NFL.”
“I’m ready to return to the NFL,” Harvin told Anderson. “I thought I was done, but that itch came back. I’ve been training with a former Olympian. My body is feeling good. Mentally I’m better. The timing is right.” Currently training at 185 pounds, Harvin hasn’t stepped foot on the field since November 2016, last retiring from chronic migraines in 2017. It seems like a long-shot that the 31-year-old would be able to step back in without missing a beat, but it’s the same thing veterans Aldon Smith and Rob Gronkowski have done after extended absences from the league. It would obviously take Harvin’s body cooperating to come to fruition.

Raiders beat reporter Jason Jones says he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Oakland used its first-round pick on Percy Harvin.
While 7th overall would seem high for Harvin, his speed undoubtedly will appeal to owner Al Davis. If the Raiders get their offensive tackle situation ironed out in free agency, wideout could be their top priority in the draft.

Percy Harvin is “lobbying hard” to return kickoffs this season.
Coach Leslie Frazier has been hesitant to leave Harvin on returns because his offensive role will increase as the No. 1 receiver. “That’s just coach kind of over-thinking right now,” Harvin explained. Harvin remains No. 1 on the special teams coach’s depth chart “pending his availability.” He’s expected to be used situationally with Lorenzo Booker as the alternative.
  • FA Wide Receiver #11
According to Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN, Percy Harvin played only 30-of-68 offensive snaps in Week 2.
Pelissero “calculated it twice because I didn’t believe it.” It’s a 44.1 snap percentage, which is in fact down from Harvin’s 62.8% (27-of-43) in Week 1. As Pelissero points out, Harvin was not involved in the red-zone package, which obviously hurts his touchdown potential. His lengthy absences are also killing Minnesota’s offense with Michael Jenkins and Bernard Berrian incapable of getting open outside. Harvin did touch the ball nine times in Week 2, but he’s a lot riskier option than meets the eye. The Vikings have some serious self evaluation to do. Harvin is their only offensive threat aside from Adrian Peterson, and a good coaching staff would be sure to use him as an every-down player.

Percy Harvin insists his absence from practice on Thursday was not related to his chronic migraines.
“It was a stomach ache,” Harvin said. “I’m fine, fine, fine.” As it was before his illness popped up, the biggest concern for Harvin’s owners heading into Week 3 is his limited use in Minnesota’s first two games. He’s expected to be more involved against the Lions, and should be a solid WR 2/3.
  • FA Wide Receiver #11
Percy Harvin left Sunday’s game against the Lions in the second half after vomiting into a garbage can.
Harvin was sick to his stomach after battling an illness on Thursday and Friday. Of course, it could have been another huge blown lead from the Vikings that had his stomach churning. Showing open-field explosiveness, Harvin caught three passes for 47 yards and rushed twice for 41 yards before exiting. Of the Vikings’ first 40 plays, Harvin was on the field for 29. He should be fine for next week’s game against the Chiefs.
  • FA Defensive Back #24
Chiefs LCB Brandon Flowers (ankle) is a game-time decision for Week 4.
Flowers turned in “limited” practices all week and is listed as questionable to face the Vikings. Even if the Chiefs’ top corner does play, it appears he won’t be at 100 percent. Vikings WR Percy Harvin has a quality Week 4 matchup.
  • FA Defensive Back #24
Brandon Flowers (ankle) is active for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
Flowers was limited all week and was considered a game-time decision. If he can be effective on that gimpy ankle, he’ll suck a little upside out of Percy Harvin and the Vikings’ passing game. The Chiefs’ inactives: QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Jerheme Urban, WR Jon Baldwin, T Steve Maneri, DT Jerrell Powe, DT Brandon Bair and S Jon McGraw.
  • FA Wide Receiver #11
Percy Harvin suffered bruised ribs in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Cardinals, but quickly returned.
Harvin was putting in extra effort by blocking at the tail end of an Adrian Peterson run. He got rewarded with a shot to the ribs. It looks like Harvin just got the wind knocked out of him.
  • FA Wide Receiver #11
Percy Harvin had just one catch for 12 yards and one rush for 11 yards in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.
Harvin was not part of the game plan. The first time the announcers called his name was when he was blocking during the end of a running play at the tail end of the first quarter and bruised his ribs. Harvin quickly returned, but was later spotted with a towel on his head. It’s unclear if his migraines were acting up. Harvin saw just two targets all day as the Vikings went run heavy most of the second half.
