The Thunder have signed Lindy Waters III to a two-way contract.
Waters, who played his college basketball at Oklahoma State, has appeared in 16 games for the Thunder’s G League affiliate this season. In those games, he averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.9 steals, and 2.6 3-pointers per, shooting 51.8% from the field and 94.7% from the foul line. In order to make room for Waters, the Thunder have waived Paul Watson.

The OKC Thunder have reportedly signed Paul Watson to a two-way contract for the 2021-22 season.
OKC opened up a two-way slot by waiving Josh Hall last week. Watson, a Fresno State product, has spent most of the last two seasons in Toronto. He was on a two-way contract with the Raps last season. It’s unlikely he makes a blip on the fantasy radar in 2021-22.

  • FA Small Forward #8
Paul Watson has been waived by the Raptors.
It’s extremely unlikely he’ll be fantasy-relevant next season, regardless of where he winds up.

  • PHI Point Guard #7
The Raptors will be without Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby for the season finale on Sunday.
No surprises here with the Raptors eliminated. Plus, they’ve been mailing it in for weeks and are reloading for the 2021-22 season. Yuta Watanabe and Paul Watson are also out.

  • TOR Power Forward #25
The Raptors will play Thursday’s game in Chicago without Chris Boucher, Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Rodney Hood, Paul Watson and Aron Baynes.
It’s ‘injury management’ season for the Raptors, and for Boucher it’s a sprained left knee that will keep him inactive. Toronto has been singularly disinterested in making the play-in tournament, and have successfully avoided it by sinking to the No. 12 spot in the East, fully five games behind the No. 10 seed Wizards. The Raptors wrap up their season with games on Friday in Dallas and Sunday vs. the visiting Pacers.

  • FA Small Forward #8
Paul Watson (left knee) will not suit up for Saturday’s game vs. the Knicks.
He doesn’t offer anything as far as fantasy value is concerned.

  • FA Small Forward #8
Paul Watson (left knee tendinitis) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game vs. the Nets.
All the main guys will be back in action tomorrow night, so Watson was likely to fall out of the rotation, anyway.

  • FA Small Forward #8
Paul Watson hit 0-of-10 shots and 0-of-6 3-pointers for no points, five assists, and one turnover in a win over the Thunder on Sunday.
The very next game after scoring 30 points in his first start, Watson put up an absolute dud. Even with Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, and OG Anunoby sidelined, Watson didn’t make an impact in 22 minutes. In all likelihood, his talents likely lie somewhere between his last two performances and it’s OK to leave him on the wire.

  • NYK Small Forward #8
OG Anunoby (left calf) will not suit up for Sunday’s game vs. the Thunder
Anunoby was initially listed as “out” on Friday’s injury report for “rest,” but then Toronto changed that to “right knee swelling,” and now he’s missing another game with “left calf soreness,” keep in mind, he hasn’t played since Wednesday. It’s odd how his injuries keep changing, as do the appendages that are giving him trouble, but perhaps he’ll play on Wednesday vs. the Nets. While he’s out, Paul Watson, Rodney Hood and DeAndre’ Bembry will be splitting his minutes.

  • FA Small Forward #8
Paul Watson made his first career start in Friday’s 113-102 win over Orlando and did not disappoint, going for a career-high 30 points (10-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with eight triples, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 26 minutes.
The Raptors were resting Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry and OG Anunoby tonight and they may do that often because the tank is on in Toronto. The 25-year-old Watson only had 35 career NBA games under his belt before Friday, but made a name for himself in the G League. The Raptors have been comically good at developing talent with the 905 and Watson is another undrafted free agent who could emerge with a huge opportunity down the stretch. We’ll be watching him closely after this gem of a line.
