    Packers waived G/C Patrick Lewis.
An undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel considered Lewis a candidate for the 53-man roster. Beat writer Tom Silverstein believes he’ll be stashed on the practice squad as long as he clears waivers.

Browns claimed G/C Patrick Lewis off waivers from the Packers.
Lewis was considered a strong candidate for the Packers’ 53-man roster, but got waived at final cuts. He’ll serve as depth in guard-needy Cleveland.

    Jaguars signed G/C Patrick Lewis.
Lewis was plucked off the Browns’ practice squad. An undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M, Lewis created some buzz in Packers camp. He should stick on the Jaguars’ offseason roster.
  • FA Tight End #87
Browns claimed TE Andre Smith off waivers from the Cowboys.
The team has also waived WR Brian Tyms and G/C Patrick Lewis. A third-year undrafted free agent, Smith appeared in three games for the Cowboys before getting cut loose. He’ll serve as blocking and special teams depth in Cleveland.

Bills claimed C Patrick Lewis off waivers from the Seahawks.
Lewis was a surprise cut after starting nine games last year. He adds veteran depth to Buffalo’s interior line. Lewis should push for the backup center job.

    Seahawks waived C Patrick Lewis.
It’s a mild surprise, as the Seahawks retained Lewis as a restricted free agent after he made nine starts last season. Profootballtalk reported Monday they were trying to find a trade partner, but evidently couldn’t scare up a conditional day-three pick. Lewis can also play guard. The Seahawks also waived/injured George Farmer, DB Trovon Reed, DE Josh Shirley and WR Kevin Smith. LB Quayshawn Nealy and LB Pete Robertson were outright waived.

PFT’s Mike Florio reports the Seahawks are trying to trade C Patrick Lewis.
Lewis is signed for $1.671 million in the final year of his deal. He started 11 games for Seattle last season, grading out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 21 center. The Seahawks are moving forward with Justin Britt in the middle of their line. For what it’s worth, Lewis is PFF’s No. 7 center this preseason.

Bills signed C Patrick Lewis to a one-year extension through 2017.
Lewis was claimed off waivers from the Seahawks at final cuts. He’ll be Eric Wood’s direct backup in Buffalo, and probably can play some guard as well.

Seahawks extended an original-round tender to C Patrick Lewis.
An UDFA out of Texas A&M, the low tender means the Seahawks will not receive any compensation if they decide not to match another team’s offer sheet. Lewis struggled in nine starts last season, but the offensive line stabilized after he was inserted into the lineup. He should compete for a starting role in training camp. Lewis will earn $1.67 million on the low tender. The Seahawks also tendered six exclusive rights free agents, including CB DeShawn Shead.

Seahawks re-signed restricted free agent C Patrick Lewis to a one-year, $1.671 million contract.
Lewis, 25, emerged as Seattle’s starting center following the Max Unger trade last year, logging 11 starts including the playoffs. Although Lewis largely performed poorly, his permanent insertion into the lineup coincided with Russell Wilson’s white-hot second half of the season. The Seahawks need to attack the offensive line in the draft, with a center upgrade on their list of needs.
