Neymar and hosts Brazil hope to rebound from a poorly-finished but dominant opener in what’s the headline story of Day 2 men’s soccer at the Rio Olympics.
Brazil and South Africa drew 0-0, as did groupmates Denmark and Iraq, putting the hosts in relatively okay position ahead of Sunday’s primetime battle with Iraq (who looked quite good against Denmark).
Nigeria is actually in Brazil for the entire matchday, something that didn’t happen thanks to plane problems ahead of their 5-4 opening win over Japan. A win over Sweden, who drew Colombia, would lift the African side to the knockout rounds.
Other highlights will be Germany testing South Korea’s mettle, while Argentina and Algeria squabble after dropping their opening contests.
